In 1995, the U.S. Postal Service released a series of five commemorative stamps honoring Great Lakes lighthouses. Each stamp depicted a lighthouse from one of the five Great Lakes. The featured lighthouse were, left to right: Split Rock Light, Lake Superior; St. Joseph Pier Lights, Lake Michigan; Spectacle Reef Light, Lake Huron; Marblehead Point Light, Lake Erie; and Thirty Mile Point Light, Lake Ontario. The paintings for the stamps were done by Howard Koslow, a New Jersey resident. He based the paintings in part on photographs taken by Frank and Diane Sedlar, Michigan photographers. |
