Grand Marais Pierhead Light Grand Marais, Minnesota, USA Lake Superior |
|||
|
This small steel tower, built in 1922, replaced an older lighthouse built in 1885. This structure is 34 feet tall and marks the end of a breakwater that protects Grand Marais Harbor on Lake Superior in the Arrowhead Region of Northern Minnesota. This light is nearly identical in design to several other pierhead lights on Lake Superior. (See Two Harbors, MN; Grand Marais, MI; Ontonagon, MI; Marquette, MI.) |
