Eagle Bluff Lighthouse

Peninsula State Park, Wisconsin, USA

Lake Michigan

Here is the tower and graceful roofline of Eagle Bluff Light, viewed from the north. This light marks the east side of the Strawberry Channel, which is the eastern passage into Green Bay. This lighthouse was built of cream-colored brick in 1868 for $12,000. Workers had to struggle up the limestone bluff to get to the construction site. The forty-three foot tower still has a Fresnel lens installed.
